Venue

The 2024 British Phycological Society Winter Meeting will be held at the University of Reading’s Whiteknights Campus. With 130 hectares of parklands, the Whiteknights campus has received 13 consecutive Green Flag awards, recognising it as one of Britain’s top green spaces.

The meeting will be held in The Meadow Suite, Park House, a historic late 19th century building that was constructed on the site of the site of the original Whiteknights House, once home to the Marquis of Blandford. Park House now sits in the centre of the Whiteknights campus of the University of Reading.

Getting there

Bus: The 21 and 21a buses run from Reading train station in the town centre to our Whiteknights campus at regular intervals, 24 hours a day. Download the Reading buses app for live bus times and timetables. https://www.reading-buses.co.uk/

Train: Reading train station has direct lines to London Paddington, Birmingham, Southampton and many more stations. When leaving the station follow exit signs to the town centre. The 21 bus stop which takes you directly onto University of Reading Whiteknights campus is outside the station to the left. Look out for a claret bus, number 21 or 21a.

Walking: When using Google Maps search ‘Park House, Reading’ for accurate directions. Whiteknights campus is approximately two miles and around 40 minutes on foot from Reading Station. The Meadow Suite, Park House is an additional 5 minute walk once you are on campus. Park house is located behind the student union near the main square.

Parking: We encourage all delegates to use public transport however if that is not possible parking is available on campus. Please contact conference organisers to arrange a parking permit prior to the conference.
